Photograph’n with Lisa- Part 2

IMG_3965I have photographed a lot of horses in my time- from old nags on old farms to prized thoroughbreds in Kentucky- so I know a little bit about how to shoot a horse. But watching my friend and professional fine art horse photographer, Lisa Cueman at work is always revelatory.

Lisa works angles and perspectives that would never occur to me. I have always shot horses from relatively afar with a longer lens. Not Lisa! She gets in close and consequently, she gets results that I will never get. And she always shoots full frame and almost never crops her images- she can’t, she needs every pixel she can get to create the magnificent 3×5 foot (and bigger!) images she sells.

Go to her website (http://lisacuemanphotography.com) to see more and remember- the composition you see is how she took the picture!
