This was taken when I was out on the Oregon Coast last weeks. Yes, I actually found a sunset! The location is the Neptune Beach wayside about 15 minutes north of the Heceta Head Lighthouse pullout. I took it with my new 18 – 200 Nikon lens using aperture priority, -1.0 autocompensation (to control the contrast), matrix metering and autofocus (on the dark rocks to the left). It was the day before a big storm came ashore so the waves were enormous and crashing all around me. It was a pretty exciting spot to photograph.
