Back from Africa

Well I’m back from Africa as dim-witted and soggy headed as ever! It was a hard trip for me- all work, horrible light and high expectations. There is nothing glamorous about photography when you are working in a developing country in the high heat of the day in a tough landscape with nothing but rock hard dirt and scraggly trees as company.

I learned a lot, an awful lot about aid, development, the Maasai culture and dominoes- knock one over and 8 more will fall in directions beyond prediction. It’s humbling, frustrating, heart breaking and incredibly complex  every darn day but within all this emotional mayhem there are glorious moments of joy, connection and deep satisfaction.

I’ll fill in some of this vagueness in my next few posts. For now I’ll share a few pics to whet your curiosity.
